This is the privacy policy for crowdfundingquickguide.com, the website for The Crowdfunding Quick-Guide by Giovanni Brees. The short version: this site is a simple, static book page. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and uses no tracking or advertising technology.
We do not collect, store or process any personal information through this website. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no newsletters and no comment sections.
The site is served by our hosting and content-delivery providers (Cloudflare and GitHub Pages). Like virtually all web hosts, they may keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to operate and secure their networks. Those logs are governed by the providers' own privacy policies; we do not use them to identify visitors.
Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When your browser fetches a font, your IP address is technically shared with Google as part of that request. Google states that font requests are not used for profiling and are not correlated with other Google services.
This site links to third-party websites, including Amazon (to purchase the book) and LinkedIn. Once you leave this site, those services' own privacy policies apply. We receive no data about what you do there.
If you choose to email us, we receive the information you send (your address and your message) and use it only to reply. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your details with anyone.
Since we hold no personal data about visitors, there is normally nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence removed, just ask and we will delete it.
The processing described above falls under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO) and, in Germany, the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the TDDDG. The legal basis for the technically necessary processing by our hosting providers and for loading fonts is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Technically necessary access to your device is permitted without consent under ยง 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG; no other access takes place. The legal basis for handling an email you send us is your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Our hosting and delivery providers, Cloudflare, Inc. and GitHub, Inc., and Google LLC (for web fonts) are based in the United States and are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Where that framework does not apply, transfers are protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the data protection authority of the German federal state in which you live.
If the site ever changes in a way that affects your privacy (for example, adding a newsletter), this page will be updated first and the date above revised.
